I was standing at the sink in Cynthia's kitchen,washing
and rinsing the dishes,when I heard her voice behind me saying," Ohh,what
are you doing? Please don't run my hot water down the drain..." And of course
she was right - I was just letting it run rather than shutting
it off when not needed so as to save on the utility bill.
That was Cynthia all the way - just by being
herself,reminding us to appreciate what we have but also to go a step further
and think about important concepts like conservation.
Very much like my Mom,who was staunchly frugal,of
the " Waste not,want not " persuasion.
