gathered from the emails that  you had a birthday.
congratulations!
Its election day and our hope is things go better than predictions.
If we're back in the opposition position, it'll feel like old times!
We're doing well in chicago.  Paige is teaching at the lab school and thinking of going for an mfa in writing at the School of the Art Insititute.  She's already a hellova writer, but this would ad some forced discipline.
Casey Blue is at Yale and now editor of the undergrad literary review.  Hal is in a band called the smith westerns and they're playing on the east coast, then off to europe to open for a hot band called MGMT. After that he goes back to europe, then austrialia and japan.
Cadien, the youngest of the lot, is a jr. in high school and a hot shot guitar player.  You met casey blue and hal when they were itty bitties. hopefully you'll meet Cadien soon. I'm trying to figure out a time to come visit you and california. 
Coya , who visited you when she treked by bus to calif after graduating high school, finished her phd at northwestern in performance studies (dissertation was on lynching—latinos—as performance). She is teaching theater at chicago's columbia college , and has my second grandaughter, Ida Rocket, who'll be 2 in jan.
Son Jesse James has a gift company called aesthetic movement, lives in the Bronx, and s dad to Olympia Baltimore James, my first grandkid.
Daughter Molly (Paige's first kid) is teaching in nyc and getting married to a fine russian dude next summer.
and me, i'm the pres. of the local democratic party, doing some writing, a little screen work , and dealing with the challenges of being a petite borgeoise businessman.

Hope to see you sometime this winter.
