Subject: Sarah

Tuesday here, things here improving
Giving us reason to feel optimistic,  Sarah is still in the ICU.  They continue
To run tests and watch and wait.
Today she is well enough to be worrying about her school work.  Her advisor at Mills has spoken with all her professors who have had nothing but glowing words to say about Sarah as a student, and they have all told her not to worry about her school work.  This is a big worry off of Sarah's mind,
I I can not say enough about the ICU nursing staff at Kaiser, nor can I say enough about Sarah's friends who have arrived nearing love and gifts.  Benji brought her the software program
Where by she can speak and have it translated into text on her computer. This should make writing the many papers that she has due during the next month an easier task, as she has limited use of her hands.  Benji also brought a hard drive loaded with movies and various programs of interest to Sarah.  The two of us have been making our way through the first season of Mad Men
The only weird event of late was the arrival yesterday of Dr Dunham, one of the two doctors Sarsh had been seeing at the Kaiser Clinic on the Mills campus.  She was clearly coming by to
Direct any blame away from herself and toward other doctors and clinic staff.  Ian left the room, and Dr D went on and on.  Never really saying so sorry, just going on and on about herself.  Teresa, the fabulous nurse, told Ian he should go back into the room.  I had been asking her to go in several ways,as Sarsh was quite upset
And all of the "but you should have said this or that" talk was making her feel the whole thing was her fault.....anyhow, Ian came in and said I can't go on listening to you invent
Revisionist history, serious mistakes were made that came close to costing Sarah her hand and arm, how dare you come in to present yourself in this favorable light etc etc etc.  We asked to to go and to not come back.  About an hour later she called the ICU to talk to me or toSarah, and we refused to talk the call.
So I was more than a little surprised to arrive this morning a little past eight am to find the other doctor who had missdiagnoised Sarah's blood clot as carpal tunnel.  Teresa came in and the two of us asked her to please leave and to not contact Sarah again
So the morning got off to a bad start, but soon Sarah wasrelaxed and watching waves andvisualizing the blood flowing through a healthy artery.
Richard hodge came by and we went to lunch to visit and seek advice as to how to make sure Kaiser goes on covering Sarah's health care after she is finished with school.
And big news from the highlands.  The tv is now up and running in the living room and Cynthia watched her first Giants game yesterday, an excellent game and the Giants won!
Thank you again for all the love and prayers you are sending our way.  They are getting the job done!
No idea how much longer we will be here.  I took off around 5this afternoon, and am writing on my iPhone from LaBateau Ivre,
A coffee house in Berkeley which has changed little inthe 38 years it hasbeen here.
Love to all from Honey and Sarah
